Springfield Approves Agreement With Biomass Plant Developers

The Town of Springfield has approved an agreement with the developers of a proposed wood-burning power plant in North Springfield.

  2. i can't understand why people do not want any businesses to come in to this town,think of the tax base this will have,maybe our taxes will go down if the select board and school board,would stop spending so much money

  3. There is a huge difference between greener energy and 'right-scaled' options compared to this proposed behemoth that will provide limited local jobs and tons of profit floating down the river and into already deep-pockets.
    What we need are LOCAL, SMALL-SCALE solutions.

  4. What we need is ample, inexpensive, clean, reliable, power that will generate hundreds of very well paid jobs, and attract other well paying business to take advantage of its low cost energy. Oh wait, that already exists.
