After a great start, Green Horn Live has a couple of weeks when schedules at the high school will make it impossible to do their regular live show on Friday, but the next show will be Friday, October 4. ****** This week on Puggy’s Corner, Puggy’s guests are Shirley Honulick and Dick Cyr. They are discussing the upcoming Karaoke Contest to raise funds for David’s House. David is the Founder and President Emeritus of David’s House and Shirley is the DJ for the fundraiser. David’s House provides a home-away-from-home and support for the families of children receiving treatment at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. David’s House is named for Dick Cyr’s son David who passed away in 1984 after a long battle with Leukemia. During his years of treatment David often wondered to his parents why couldn’t there be a way for others to have a comfortable, safe home to stay in during the many treatments at the medical center. After David’s passing Dick’s mission became building a facility near the hospital to provide a place to stay while children were under going treatments. This was accomplished within 2 years and then when the medical center moved to Lebanon from Hanover in 1991 an effort to build a new David’s House was started and in 1994 the current David’s House opened its doors. Over 12,500 families from around the world have used the services of David’s House during visits to the medical center. During this program you will learn much more about David’s House and the fundraising efforts to ensure it continues to provide services to those who need it. The Karaoke Contest has become a yearly fundraiser for these efforts and Shirley will fill in the details on what is happening on October 19th. ****** This week on Channel 8 we have a new Meals on Wheels program, which was recorded last week. ****** This week on Channel 10 we will have new board meetings of the Springfield Select Board and a special meeting of the Springfield School Board.
