Art on the River Gallery Submitted by admin on Tue, 01/21/2014 - 2:58pm SPRINGFIELD, VT -The Great Hall, because of its soaring ceiling and 150 foot length showcases very large art and sculpture. The new Art on the River Gallery, just off the Great Hall and connecting to the Lunchbox Café allows our local artists to display smaller to medium size works of art and photography in a more intimate space. On January 17, Bob Flint, Executive Director of Springfield Regional Development Corporation was on hand to dedicate the new gallery with Nancy Lanoue of Springfield and Lynn VanNatta of Windsor. They both want to bring the excitment of even more art to Springfield. The current exhibit of watercolors and oils will be on-view until April. In May, photography by Len Emery and Goldie May will be exhibited. Local schools and organizations will also be welcome to display. Plein air artists wanted- Meetings on the first Tuesday of the month. First meeting February 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. Paint local motifs with other artists. Meet at the Art on the River Gallery off the Great Hall, Old Fellows Building, 100 River Street, Springfield on the way to the Lunchbox Café.
