Springfield Transit Map on 'The Simpsons' has Similarities to MBTA [Pics] Published: March 19th 2014, 2:42pm Read More: City News , News, MBTA, MassDOT, Maps, Silver Line, The Simpsons, Boston Transportation Bart Simpson is a shit. The Atlantic writes: "The episode provided a much-needed update to the extent of Springfield's public-transit system, which is revealed to include many color-coded lines and stations like Mattress City, Guidopolis, Unauthorized Beatles Museum, and the "Varmint District." The author goes on to reference an earlier version of the Springfield Transit Authority system, which, by the looks of it, Transit Maps' Cameroon Booth says, "has had a complete overhaul, expansion and rebranding since its previous appearance." It also falls in line with feel of Mikheil Kvrivishvili's winning MBTA map design – straighter, more blunt lines. One wonders if the new Springfield map drew some inspiration from MBTA designs, specifically when it comes to the Silver Line. In Springfield and Boston, the Silver Line is the shortest route and seems to run along similar paths in each system. MBTA Silver Line ... Springfield Silver Line...
