Apple Blossom Queens' Portraits and Gowns On Display Posted on 4/7/2014 Apple Blossom Queen's portraits and gowns on display at Springfield Health Center, 100 River Street, Springfield, VT SPRINGFIELD, VT - Portraits of Apple Blossom Queens, along with a collection of gowns worn in past Cotillions, are on display at Springfield Health Center in the 100 River Street building. This exhibit includes all formal portraits of Apple Blossom queens since 1977 and several private portraits donated by queens from 1957 to 1976. The portrait of the 2013 Apple Blossom queen, Shelby Reardon, is on display in the lobby of Springfield Hospital and will be at this year’s Cotillion. The exhibit is located on the 3rd floor of Springfield Health Center and will run until the week after this year’s Cotillion. In addition to the portraits and gowns, photographs of the contestants and escorts in this year’s event are also on display. The 58th Apple Blossom Queen will be crowned on Saturday, May 3, at Riverside Gymnasium in Springfield. The theme of this year’s Cotillion is “A Thriller Night - Cotillion Style” and features songs from Michael and Janet Jackson and the Jackson Five. “The Apple Blossom Cotillion is both a community pageant and a fundraising event,” says Larry Kraft, Director of Development for Springfield Medical Care Systems, which presents the event. Proceeds are used for the Dr. E. Sherburne Lovell Health Career Award and to support local health care services. Tickets for the Friday, May 2, performance cost $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Tickets for the Saturday, May 3, performance cost $15 in advance, $18 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at Tina’s Hallmark Store, Boccaccio’s salons, and the outpatient registration office at Springfield Hospital.
