I can only wish that Shumlin was forced to visit each vacant and abandoned manufacturing plant on Clinton Street. Walk Main Street to experience all the vacant store fronts and dilapidated eye sores. Tour the side streets to see legions of unemployed, single mothers shamelessly herding their fatherless urchins around. Visit SHS to witness first hand the staggering population of SPEDs that disproportionately consume our heavily taxed income.
ReplyDeleteThen in front of the media explain how his tenure in Montpelier has made our community a better place.
Your comments are disgusting. And you probably go to church every Sunday. Or pretend to be 'conservative' or 'christian'. There is no such thing as a "SPED". It's not a noun.
DeleteYOUR kind, full of hate and fear, are not wanted here. Go sit in the corner. When you feel like being human and decent, you may rejoin us.
Does that mean you'll stop taking my money?
DeleteSadly, this godless liberal agrees with Anonymous 4/7/14, 9:09 AM. Unless he is bringing news of living-wage-paying jobs locating in the town or, perhaps, tax/regulation relief, why bother coming? Photo opportunity with addict/victims perhaps?
DeleteYou hit that on the head.
DeleteShumey, Shumey, go away, and don't bother coming back another day!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he's in town to cast a spotlight on the "heroin epidemic", for which Springfield has become a "ground zero" town. Yet, he'll have no answers and offer no meaningful solutions. It's just another day out on the state at taxpayer expense for a career politician...
And you have potential.
ReplyDeleteFYI, if you want to know who the real BossHog is: https://twitter.com/williebosshog?original_referer=http%3A%2F%2Fbobcesca.thedailybanter.com%2F&tw_i=428341006904590336&tw_p=tweetembed
ReplyDelete4/7/14, you need a larger perspective. Nobody gets anywhere by whining, "We're broken! Fix us!" They get somewhere by saying, "This is what happened to us; this is how you can fix it. So, help us fix it."
ReplyDeleteShumlin had nothing to do with Precision Valley's collapse, nor does he at this time have any idea how to either revive us or keep it from happening again.
So, it's up to us to come up with ideas to have our legislators push.
The conditions we want to see are:
1. Like Springfield's attraction for the machine tool industry-- plentiful hydro power-- we have to identify another attraction for another industry. It doesn't' have to be another manufacturing sector: Colorado Springs has developed the religious right industry as its purview; Manhattan has the financial industry, Kankakee, Illinois, has the Chicago retail financial services.
2. It has to be a business the rest of the country will come for-- Rochester, Minnesota would be a backwater town but for the Mayo Clinic, the best of its kind in the country. And there are a lot of things America is thirsty for in IT, education, personal development, not to mention the scams we have always loved (but should avoid).
3. And we devise a way to keep it from ever falling into Wall Street's hands. This can actually be done quite easily. It certainly would have saved Precision Valley had it been in place at the time.

Pardon me, but what the heck are you talking about?
