Springfield High School student's work to be performed in concert Apr 24, 2014 Share on facebook Share on twitter Share on email Share on print More Sharing Services 0 SPRINGFIELD — Ian Morvan, a Springfield High School 10th grader, is one of about 80 students across the state who submitted his work-in-progress for mentoring by professional composers to Music-CompMusic Composition Online Mentoring Program). Twenty-five compositions were selected including Ian for his original composition titled “Frolic and Despair,” written for oboe, violin, viola and cello. The performance, titled “Opus 28,” will feature professional musicians playing the work of students in grades 5 to 12 and will held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the Ludlow Town Hall Auditorium. The concert is free with donations gratefully accepted. Music-Comp is known nationally as an innovator in music and technology programs, especially those involving music composition and live performance of student work.
