Ferrara hoists Pats over Cosmos

SPRINGFIELD — The Patriots escaped with their unbeaten (6-0) record intact as Makayla Ferrara singled and scored on Jenn Elwell’s triple in the top of the seventh for the go-ahead run.
Brittany Ports picked up the win giving up one run in four innings of relief. Sarrah Locke took the loss for the 3-2 Cosmos, who host Brattleboro Tuesday.
