Horse trailer accident on I-91

Four horses were uninjured in an accident on I-91 in Springfield this morning but the driver had to be taken to the hospital.

Troopers are on the scene of this vehicle crash on Interstate 91 southbound in Springfield (about mile 43, near exit 7). 1 lane of I-91 is closed and motorists should expect delays.

4 horses in the horse trailer were uninjured. The driver is being flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock with apparently non-life threatening injuries. Further details on the crash are not yet available, but will be released later today. Please drive carefully.

    Thank you Hillside for taking transport of horses and recovery of this accident. We are lucky to have your experience in this town. So glad the driver and horses are ok!

    Why weren't the horses flown to tufts for evaluation and observation - ohhhh the horsemanity!!!!
