  1. They need Bobby Gagnier playing the drums. He'd add some pounding rhythm to that song.

    1. There's no doubt Bobby is the best drummer to ever come out of Springfield but Rick Hebert has been a mainstay with The Illusion for 48 years! He has never tried to be flashy but the guy lays down a steady beat and that's all any band can ever ask for.

The Illusion aren't trying to be Led Zeppelin. They're a "let's have fun" cover band, and having witnessed them playing at two of my class reunions, I can tell you they still do it very well. Rick Hebert is a big reason why.

  2. Bobby is a great percussionist; has great chops, but Rick is there to stay and excellent at what he does. Great voice, solid timing, chops of his own... not to mention one of the four founding members of a band that is coming up on 50 years together.

I feel grateful for every gig that I get to play.

  3. We had to return to Atlanta so we couldn't stay for the 2016 block party. The Illusion still rocks and Rick has been making it happen since the 60's. Rock on forever my friend! Charlie & Bev
