Springfield Police Chief Douglas Johnston said Pamela Reynolds, 31, of Springfield was passing cars when her vehicle struck another almost head on at 6:43 p.m. Charges may be pending, he said. Johnston said the charge most likely would be gross negligent operation with accident resulting. The identity of the other driver was not available, police said. Johnston said an occupant of one of the vehicles was taken by ambulance to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. Five other passengers went to Springfield Hospital. The extent of their injuries was not available. First responders remained at the accident scene for nearly three hours, the chief said.
