Springfield hosts back-to-back wrestling tournaments

On March 5th, wrestlers from around New England will fill the gymnasium at Riverside Middle School for the annual competitions hosted by the Springfield Vermont Wrestling Team.

First up is the Schweitzer Memorial Tournament for grades K-8, with action kicking off about 9 AM. A small admission fee of just $3 per person is requested at the door; kids under 10 are free.

Starting at 2 PM that same day, girls of all ages hit the mats for the Precision Valley Classic All Girls Tournament. Admission is free to this high-caliber event.

A full concession stand will be served all day in the cafeteria; event tee shirts and other gear will be available for purchase thanks to Competitive Edge Wrestling.

The tournaments help the Springfield VT Wrestling Team raise awareness of this incredible sport and the determined young athletes who participate in it.

For more information about the tournaments or the team, please email k.stettner101@gmail.com or leave a message at (802) 738-0456. Donations can be mailed directly to "Springfield Wrestling" c/o Parks & Rec, 139 Main St, Springfield VT 05156.
