Springfield hosts gubernatorial candidates forum

All five Democrat candidates for Vermont governor were in town tonight squaring off for the first time in a public forum.

Two of the more colorful candidates for
governor, H. Brooke Paige and Cris Ericsson.
Former Rep. Ernie Shand of Weathersfield moderated the forum and introduced the candidates: Matt Dunne, Cris Ericson, Peter Galbraith, Sue Minter and Brooke Paige.

Shand read questions submitted in writing to the candidates by some of the 50 or so people attending. Topics addressed included gun control, health care, marijuana laws, and the economy.

The forum was sponsored by the Springfield Town Democratic Committee.

  1. Thanks to the Springfield Town Democratic Committee of sponsoring the event, the first to feature all five of the Democratic gubernatorial hopefuls. It was an exciting and informative evening and the tasty treats were a welcome addition. Best Wishes, Brooke.

  2. Fitting that someone would choose to dress up like he is getting advice from Punxsutawney Phil on Groundhog Day. The theme of the movie being stuck in time seems appropriate for the Vermont Gov candidates. Some things will never change.

  3. Quite well organized. SAPA filmed it so stay tuned.

  4. Will the same, Congregational Church be hosting a Republican forum or Trump rally? I rather doubt it. It's not so much that I left the Church, as my Church left me. The vanishing congregation speaks louder than any sermon.
