While the 2016 Springfield Steampunk Festival was SO MUCH fun and enjoyed by all who attended, it, unfortunately was not financially successful. Due to unexpected poor attendance and very minimal donations on our Friday-Free-Locals night, we are in the red.
If you loved the festival, whether this year or last, and want to see it continue to be a yearly event, we desperately need your help via donations. Our festival organizing team has learned from this year and would love to jump feet first into planning another amazing festival for 2017; we have so many great ideas. However, we can’t begin to work on next year’s festival until we wrap up 2016, which means paying the bills.
Our festival has brought the community together and it feels like our festival attendees and volunteers are our steampunk family. We hope to keep the community we’ve created strong and connected with more steampunk events for years to come. We will continue to work towards making Springfield an amazing place to live, work and visit; but we need your help.
We are a small group of volunteers planning this festival and even a smaller group burdened with this financial debt. We can’t manage it on our own without help from you. Please donate anything you can to help the festival get back in the black and please share this GoFundMe page with all of your steampunk and Springfield fans.
We humbly thank you for your help.

The sheer audacity of these 'punks'! Get to work and pay your own way!
ReplyDeletehave the select board put money in the budget for the festival, the festival might not of made money, but I'm sure some businesses in town did, they bring more people to town then SOM does
ReplyDeleteHere's how absurdly simple it is. Just get the 300 signatures for a million dollar article on next March vote. It is guarantied to pass. Honest, it really will. Spend the money any way you want. And it gets better. The following year you don't have to get any signatures and can inflate it to ten million! Damn I love living here!
DeleteHow bout some steam punk pole dancing to raise some money!
