Subject was described as 5'11" to 6'2" heavier looking build, white male, tan Carhartt pants, green hoodie, black gloves, work boots, and black mask with sunglasses. The gun was described as a black semi-automatic handgun.
Subject referenced having people watching the establishment. Subject appeared to have local knowledge of the area and took the Manager's vehicle to flee the scene. Subject is believed to have met up with an accomplice or had a stash vehicle.
At this time the subject has not been located and anyone with information is asked to contact the Springfield Police Department at 802-885-2113.
9:30 am: Police officers have responded to the area of St. Mary's Cemetary off River St in Springfield following a report of an armed robbery at a local financial institution.
Officers have located the vehicle taken by the alleged robber abandoned in this location. Subject is believed possibly on foot in the surrounding area.
Subj is described as 5'11, 250, last seen wearing black or dark colored hoodie and grey carhart type pants with baseball cap.Subject was armed at the time of the event with a handgun.
PLEASE stay in your home if you are in the surrounding area as a K9 and officers will be working the area.
