Sanders to hold Town Meeting in Springfield tonight

According to a new Fox News poll released yesterday, Senator Bernie Sanders is the most popular Washington, D.C. public figure in America. He is coming to Springfield tonight to meet with the community.

“I look forward to hearing from Vermonters this week as I travel around the state. These are uncertain times and I want to hear directly from the people affected by decisions being made in Washington.”

Bernie Sanders will host a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in the gym at Riverside Middle School. Admission is free.

The Trailblazers (8th grade team) at Riverside Middle School will host a Spaghetti Supper on Thursday, March 16th from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at the Riverside Middle School cafeteria, immediately preceding Bernie Sanders’ town hall meeting.

  2. ^Amen! Sanders has made a career assuring underachievers their lack of success someone else's fault. In all his years of politics the words hard work and sacrifice never enter the dialog. Looking forward to the media photos posted here of Springfield's most notable dim wits and slackers. Hey Bernie, where's my trophy home on Champlain too?

I find it interesting that you are both "anonymous" and have so much anger. Please consider getting some psychological counseling.

    1. He is in the white house. It's the white house on Lake Champlain that he somehow managed to afford on a simple, hard(ly) working civil servant's salary. You should visit him there and he can regale you with his socialist propaganda and stories of just how gullible the average Vermont voter can be!

    2. 250K a year, plus his wife's salary can easily afford that house. Why people think that is nefarious is beyond me.

  5. Never had a job until 40 and then entirely government. Did pretty well for himself (at the tax payers expense). Let's send Bernie back to where he sounds like he is from, his accent is certainly not a Vermont one.

  6. I will never understand this state. Vt claims to support the hard-working farmers, ect. yet Burlington runs Vt. We have become a Democratic/Socialist state thanks to Bernie. I wish this state would consider the rest of Vt. Burlington and Bernie are NOT what this state is about.

I can think of a New Yorker that I'd like to send home, but he's in Washington, DC!

  8. Have to hand it to Sanders, he is a very shrewd, self-made politician. Recognizing he was an abject failure in earning a living otherwise, he reinvented himself as a politician. Knowing he lacked the work ethic, intellect and education to appeal to Vermont's conservative electorate, he plotted a growing demographic he could champion. Behold, the idealistic, aging, dreamers that never saved for retirement now had a savior. Odd part is, Burnie hasn't delivered Jack Squat and he still attracts a crowd. Well, at least they're not missing work.

    1. Sanders didn't "plot" to win over Vermonters. He joined the Young People's Socialist League in 1960. His early political career in Vermont was filled with defeats until a confluence of events propelled him to victory in the Burlington mayoral campaign of 1980.

He is what he always has been: a self-described democratic socialist.

    2. Better than Trump who seems to be making a "Psydo" Hitler regime, which will Make America Great again by nonchalantly eliminating 1) the poor 2) the blacks 3) the Hispanics 4) the uninsured 5) Women (if he could) 6) Muslims 7) anyone against his views 8) the unhealthy just to name afew.

Aging idealistic dreamers that never saved for retirement? More like people who busted our butts and don't want to get screwed out of what we worked for! You conservatives can delude yourselves all you like; the rest of us in the majority will keep voting for Bernie! Don't like it? Move to a right-to-work state see how well you do! You will, of course, owe us an apology when you come crawling back!

    4. Butt Rustler, in case you haven't noticed, Vermont has a shrinking population as ambitious young adults seek opportunity elsewhere. And that's taking into account the thousands, and thousands of welfare and disability scammers that flock here. I don't know about you, but my retirement investments under Trump's administration are growing like never before. But fear not, you can always get a hand out at the Family Center or U-Turning Point with the rest of the slackers.

Wow, cheap insults from an anonymous white trash conservative. What will I do? I guess I'll just enjoy my retirement anyway. Welfare cases? Disability scammers? If only you had ever worked that hard! Investments growing under Trump? You mean growing for eight years under Obama! Wait until it crashes, just like it did under Bush, YOU'LL be the one begging at the Family Center! Ha Ha Ha!

  9. I find it funny how people are excited to see him. I despise Trump, but I don't believe every kid should get a trophy. Time to retire Bernie and the others in DC democrats and republicans that have caused nothing but gridlock.

  10. Maybe I'll ask him if he know why we don't have an elevator for the handicapped in the Senior Center yet.
