SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – On Oct. 28, a windy, sunny Saturday afternoon, the Springfield Humane Society enjoyed its third annual Howl-o-ween walk. Anne Eddy, a Springfield resident and executive director of the Springfield Humane society, expressed her gratitude. “This is a lot of fun. We are appreciative of all the volunteers, as well as the community support. We like to have fun and think it’s fun for the animals as well.” The event is a good fundraiser for the humane society, and it promotes community awareness of the continued need for the humane societies services. There were refreshments available for participants as well as t-shirts from past and present walks available for purchase. Willow Farm Pet Services provided the first-place prize as well as acted as adjudicators for the event. Willow Farm provides many services, including boarding and daycare, grooming, training, and even has a wide array of products for your pampered pooches every need. Decked out in their costumes, those very same pooches paraded the Toonerville Trail for some spooky Halloween fun.
