New exhibit features Community Players

Community members can relive memories of past years of the Springfield Community Players with an exciting new display in the lobby of the Springfield Town Library. Props, memorabilia, and summer season teasers will be up in July.

The Springfield Community Players are the oldest continuously performing community theater in Vermont, on stage since 1920. Don Gray, Stephanie Rowe and current president John MacDonald have picked highlights from stage props and scrapbooks to show off a hundred years of area cultural history.

The Springfield Community Players are also rehearsing Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling right now. Shows are July 20, 21, 27 and 28, starting at 7:30 p.m. All performances happen at the Studio on 165 South St. in Springfield. To find tickets, visit springfieldcommunityplayers.org or call the Ticket Box Office at (866) 967-8167.

The Springfield Town Library is located at 43 Main Street in Springfield. Programs are free and open to the public, and the building is accessible. Call the library at (802) 885-3108 for more information about services or the display.
