Police log

Recent activity of the Springfield Police Department.


The Springfield Police Department is seeking information regarding the theft of three (3) beige-colored, 275-gallon metal oil tanks from a pull-off on Woodbury Road. The tanks were being used by a local farmer for sap storage. The theft occurred between January 24th (Tuesday) and January 27th (Friday). Anyone with information on this theft is asked to contact Sergeant Gregory Molgano at 885-2113. On January 19th, Nicholas Courchesne, age 18, turned himself in on an active warrant for failure to appear at arraignment. He was temporarily detained until processing was complete and payment of $250 bail was made.

On January 23rd, Chelseay Bourdon, age 19, was arrested and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of bail. Bourdon faced charges of Simple Assault; Disorderly Conduct and Assault on an ER Worker (follow this link: http://www.wptz.com/news/27870946/detail.html for more details on this new law) following an incident at the Springfield Hospital Emergency Room.

On January 25th, Francis Cobb, age 46, was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle while Criminally Suspended. He will appear in Windsor Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date.

Adam Bates, Age 36, was arrested January 26th on an active warrant out of Bennington County for failure to appear for arraignment. He was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in Lieu of $500 bail.

On January 26th, around 8:11 p.m., Jose Artemio Edgar Juarez was operating his bosses truck on Park Street, when due to weather and road conditions, he slid off the roadway into a porch of a nearby residence causing damage to a railing and a roof support beam. Juarez fled the scene on foot. Ozzy, Springfield’s resident K9 was working that evening and was utilized to do a track of the operator from Park Street to Westview Terrace, where Juarez was found inside one of the apartments. Juarez was found to have been drinking, but not over the legal limit of .08. Juarez was found not to have a license and no documentation to be in the States legally. He was taken into custody and transported back to the PD where he was later released to Border Patrol.

Michael Marrone, age 18, was arrested Tuesday the 24th for Possession of Marijuana; Attempted Petit Larceny; operating Without Owners Consent; and Attempting to Elude on top of being found to have an active arrest warrant. Marrone was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $2500 cash or surety to await arraignment.

Patricia Munson, age 44, of Springfield, was arrested in the early morning hours of January 29th for DUI #2. She was transported to Springfield PD where she was processed and released on a citation to appear in Windsor Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.
