That is so Depressing.. You just reminded me that the Town Did Nothing Memorable for the 250th anniversary.
ReplyDeleteThere were a lot of Well publicized activities that were advertised right here on the Springfieldblog and in many other venues throughout town and in papers.
ReplyDeleteYes, nut none worthy of the number 250.
DeletePrett sure the 250th will be remembered for this groups 2011 failures
If the town doesn't spend money people complain. When they do spend money taxes are to high. These activities or celebrations aren't free. But in this entitlement world. I guess some.people.think.they are owed everything. Including a party
Deleteyou should retire. You've lost your energy
DeleteMight be forced out after 50 years of living here. All the tree hugging flatlanders that what to make Vermont a retirement state at the cost of us paying taxes and trying to make a living here
DeleteHappy to see news like this finally being published and put out to the public. The town still could do a better job of informing the public but this is a good start. I worry about the people who do not have access to computers. But again, a better job so far. Baby steps are very helpful.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get through the Town Attorney's report without classifying the entire report as fiction.
Deletelies and spih. Ankuda is an underpaid word smith. WHAT RUBBISH. trash. cow manure.
publishing what you wish were true is dangerous.
and BABY STEPS are not going to do. THE TOWN IS 250 YEARS OLD
Ok. I'm.gong.to be nice. Your an idiot. Move to bellows falls.
Deletedon't be nice, and leave your name. Is it also Ankuda?
DeleteNope guess again.
DeleteUhh, is it..
DeleteNed ?
Town reports are mailed to all property owners
ReplyDeleteCorrect but not all registered voters. We have alot of rentals in town but they vote and should have access to the same information easily. No mention if they can understand it...but still should have the chance to TRY to be involved.
DeleteThey are also available at the library.
DeleteThat's not true- I'm a property owner and have NEVER gotten a town report mailed to me. I usually just pick one up
Delete6. Vermont 6TH WORST IN COUNTRY
ReplyDelete2011 budget shortfall: $338 million, 31.3% of the state's general fund.
2012 projected shortfall: 14.3% (15th largest).
GDP change (2006 to 2010): +8.3% (tied for 14th-smallest increase).
Median home value change (2006 to 2010): +12.4% (14th-largest increase).
Takeaway: Vermont shut down the state court system for half a day each week. It slapped a freeze on hiring and reduced spending for higher education, including financial aid.
