Police Log

Recent activity of the Springfield Police Department.


On March 16th, officers investigated a report of a domestic assault which had occurred at #367 South Street. Investigation led to the arrest of Tammy Carpenter for assaulting her brother Frank Garceau. Carpenter was charged with Domestic Assault and cited to appear in court to answer to the charge.

On 3-13-2012 Officers were asked to respond to the Springfield Plaza for a report of a female acting strange. On arrival it was determined that the famale was under the influence of an unknown substance. Durring the conversation officers observed merchandise from Shaws stuffed into her shirt. The female subject was processed and transported to her residence in North Springfield. The female denied any medical attention. Harris was charged with Retail Theft and wil appear in court on a later date.

On 3-13-2012 officers and troopers responded to a reported physical altercation in North Springfield Vermont. It was discovered that Cristy Wojenski had struck her step brother Tristan Blanchard with a closed fist in the face. Blanchard was uncooporative with providing a statement however there were observable injuries to both Blanchard and Wojenski. The reason for the altercation was a private fa...mily matter. Wojenski was charged with Domestic Assault and cited to appear in Windsor Superior Court, Criminal Division on a later date.

Nicholas Lafayette, age 22, of North Walpole, was arrested on March 13th for Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order. The violation occurred when he was found to be in possession of a firearm after a complaint of gunshots coming from private property was reported. Most, if not all Final Relief from Abuse Orders come with a important notice sheet indicating "a person who is subject to a qualifying final relief from abuse order, may not lawfully possess a firearm". Lafayette was flash-cited to appear in court on the 14th to answer to the above charge.

On March 11th, Kostantina Nanopoulos, 27, of Thetford, VT, was arrested following a traffic stop for defective equipment. During the stop it was found that Kostantina had been released from court on conditions that she observe a 10:30 pm to 6 am curfew at her residence in Thetford, VT. Cpl. Norton determined that it was not legally or physically possible for Kostantina to make it the 50 miles home in 9 minutes, especially since she had been traveling in the wrong direction, and placed her under arrest for the now occuring violation. She was flash-cited to appear in court on the 12th to answer to the charge.

On March 11th, just before 1 a.m., Marc Fazzina, 35, of Churchville, NY, was stopped by Cpl. Norton after he observed Marc operating his vehicle in an erratic manner by weaving and not using his turn signal on River Street (VT Route 106). Following his investigation Marc was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle and for Providing False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer. Fazzina was issued a citation to appear in Windsor Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.
