Slaters surge past Cosmos

SPRINGFIELD — Dan Brown triggered a five-run second inning with a triple and got the win by spacing five hits for the 6-4 Slaters, who banged out 10 hits.
Brown had two, as did Matt Graziano and Jesse Bashaw. Bashaw and Graziano drove in two runs each and Graziano scored three times.
Brown struck out nine with no walks.
Eric White suffered the loss for the 3-9 Cosmos, who got a single, double and two RBI from Kirk Perham and a nice defensive effort from shortstop Jake Patoine.
Springfield will visit Brattleboro on Tuesday night.
