  1. I still miss it being Bryant Credit Union, the people were so friendly and knew my name and account number as I came in.
Now they don't make eye contact, are slow to answer the phone and have a new person everytime I walk in there. It is like I live in a big city.

    1. I agree, they have lost their personal touch and the One Credit Union has no personality.

  2. I would like to jump in here please. We try quite hard to provide the highest quality service to our members and if anyone has had a negative experience at One Credit Union I would kindly request you contact me. We will make every effort to correct the situation to your satisfaction. We understand the value of our members and the service you describe is no more acceptable to me than I'm sure it was to you. I am Jerry Cross, President of the credit union and you can email me at jcross@onecu.org. I will answer you as soon as I can. Thank you for this insight.

  4. I changed banks a short time after Bryant Credit Union ceased to exist. Bryant Credit Union was one of the best local financial institutions, and although they should have, they didn't charge people for services like regular banks do. Once they became One, there was a service charge for everything. I stayed for a while only because of Sue Mellish. I really feel that this merger was not the right one for our region.

  5. I've been with this bank since I worked at Bryants back in the day - roughly 25 years. On one recent month, for the first time ever, a check I post dated put me over by 40 dollars. When the other bank cashed it early, I couldn't believe One credit union actually bounced my check. Despite knowing my work check gets deposited every week, plus I make auto loans instantly, they actually bounced my check. While I am ultimately responsible (despite post dating the check) I was less than pleased after 25 years of being a customer and having mortgages and car loans with impeccable payment history that this place couldn't front me the lousy 40 bucks until pay day three days later. That is Bank of America stuff right there. A call to some woman was met with indifference and that I should have had overdraft protection. And I agree with the above comment, why do i get charged a fee to use my debit card after so many times a month?

    1. Welcome to the real world. No overdraft line of credit? No money in account.. check bounces...watta big surprise! Those dirty bankers. Hopefully they whacked your account $25.00 in fees and caused more checks to bounce and then whacked you $25.00 for each new one. Bank of America would approve if they did.

    2. Bryant Credit Union was the best. One credit Union has lost what it takes to be a quality credit union they cain't wait to whack you with some fee even transfer fees when you have the money in your account. Simply put they suck. I'm switiching to Citizens bank after more than 30 years. Byrant Grinder is gone and so is Bryant Credit Union. One Credit Union is number two in my book.

    3. It's the world today. We don't have a local financial institution anymore. This is what we get. Big companies, with big fees and lots of them. You are really not going to like Citizens much either, just another Bank of America.

And Mr. Cross, how do you correct apathy or the sterile feeling to doing business at One Credit Union to "my satisfaction"? What you have is corporate culture failure and that won't be fixed by a case by case basis.

"Overdraft protection" only means that they pay the check. They still nail you for the $40 charge, PLUS they also have the money you paid for "overdraft protection." I don't know if that's better than simply having to pay the $40 and write another check.

    5. Chuck - you silly 48%er; here's an idea, rather than commenting on the blog day and night why don't you go get another job so that you can pay your bills and not overdraft your account - Wait, this is the man's fault somehow isn't it???
