Cosmos come back to top Minutemen
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Springfield 44, Mill River 40
NORTH CLARENDON — Chelsea McAllister broke loose for 14 of her 16 points in the second half as the Cosmos overcame a 21-11 halftime deficit.
“We defended her really well in the first half and we were able to rebound,” MR coach Ken Webb said. “In the second half they ran her off a lot of screens and we didn’t communicate well.”
Nicole Ames had 14 points and Trish Burden nine for 4-5 Mill River, whose rebounding was hurt when Burden and Morgan Charron fouled out in the fourth period. But benchman Shirley Muzzy gave the MInutemen some good minutes.
“I can’t say enough about the job she did,” Webb said.
Abbi Cox added 13 points for the 5-4 Cosmos.
