Agriculture Secretary Chuck Ross told the annual meeting of the Springfield Regional Development Corp. on Wednesday that never before have agriculture and traditional business interests been so connected.

  1. "Ross, former state director for Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., said that providing food to a projected 9 billion people in 2050 is a daunting task for agriculture all over the world."

More empty rhetoric from a bureaucrat; this time a Leahy lackey who has never milked a cow, baled hay, raised crops, or operated a farm or business in his life.

The real reason that agriculture and business interests are so vitally connected now is that both domains are facing extinction in the face of overpaid, posturing bureaucrats like Ross who don't have a clue about what they're talking about.
