Wasps get jump on Cosmos
BOYS SOCCER
Woodstock, 4, Springfield 0
SPRINGFIELD — Woodstock got all four of its goals within the first 21 minutes under the lights of Brown Field.
Springfield coach Derek Graham was pretty happy with his team’s play after that.
“We had an incredible second half,” Graham said.
He will look for that type of play for all 80 minutes when the Cosmos travel to Leland & Gray on Thursday.
Alex Crompton scored three times for the Wasps and Connor McCarthy had the other tally.
“Our defense played well as a whole but Ian Mattson had an outstanding game for us on defense,” Graham said.
