Solicitation Number: W912WJ-15-X-0001 Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis: Added: Oct 16, 2014 2:56 pm The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a construction project for the North Springfield Dam bridges repair project, near the town of North Springfield, Vermont to determine the interest, availability, and capability of 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237310. The project is planned to be issued on or about December 2014. The construction will occur in the spring of 2015 and is expected to take about seven months, including submittal approval. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00. This project consists of the following components: For the Service Bridge: 1. Apply sealer on bridge deck and horizontal and vertical surfaces of curbs. 2. Clean, sandblast and paint with primer and top coat the joint plates. 3. Clean, sandblast and paint with primer and top coat the two bearings and bearing plates at the abutment. For the Spillway Bridge: Below Bridge Deck @ West Abutment: 1. Repair concrete around bearing plates. 2. Repair cracks in concrete cap, possibly using epoxy resin injection. 3. Clean, blast and paint fixed bearings and all structural steel 3' from end of girders. Assume that the existing paint contains lead. 4. Work at this location will require fall protection. Below Bridge Deck @ East Abutment: 1. Clean, blast and paint expansion bearings and all structural steel 3' from end of girders. Assume existing paint contains lead. No fall protection needed at this location because there is plenty of room to work. Fence is intact between bearings and spillway. Above Bridge Deck @ West Approach: 1. Repair curbs. 2. Repair concrete at five transverse joints. 3. Replace joint material. 4. Apply sealer on bridge deck and horizontal and vertical surfaces of curbs. 5. Replace missing Compression Joint at west abutment bridge joint. 6. Remove and replace asphalt pavement at interface of concrete/asphalt approach. Above Bridge Deck @ East Approach: 1. Remove and replace deteriorated concrete at top of backwall. 2. Pave at interface. On Bridge Deck: 1. Repair concrete at transverse deck joints. 2. Replace existing sealant material at curb joints. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.), as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work components stated above. Please include at least two specific examples of the firm's experience performing the work requirements stated above. The projects must have been performed within the last five years. Please indicate the team subcontractors that will be used to support the offeror's effort and include their prior experience and qualifications. Proof of bonding capability is required. Responses for this Sources Sought. Responses are due November 17, 2014.
