SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — A Worcester County man was issued a ticket after crashing his tractor-trailer on Interstate 91 in Vermont early Wednesday morning.
Authorities cited "fatigue" as a factor in the 1:50 a.m. crash in the southbound lane of I-91 in the Windsor County town of Springfield.
Robert Brewster, 45, of Northborough, was issued a ticket for "failing to maintain safe and proper control of his vehicle within the marked travel lane," Vermont State Police said.
Police said Brewster was southbound when his truck went off the east side of the highway, striking several small tress and a ledge before coming to rest several feet from the northbound lane.
Brewster was wearing his seatbelt and uninjured in the crash, police said. However, the and the 53-foot trailer it was towing both sustained damage, police said.
"It appeared that fatigue was a factor," police said.

Is he an independent or was he an employee? We used to have Federal regulations that limited time on the road and mandated rest time between legs. We also used to have a Teamsters union that made sure employers held to the contract.
