Consider hosting a foreign exchange student

Hoping to bring back a valuable program to the Springfield community, PAX, the Program of Academic Exchange, is looking for families to host students for the 2015-16 academic school year.

These young adventurers will arrive at the end of August, from one of over 80 countries! They hope to spend a full academic year here; becoming a member of a family, sharing cultures, improving their English, and creating lifelong memories with their new communities.

What is PAX looking for in a host family? We are looking for families that can host a student for a whole or half academic year. A host family should be ready to share their lives with a PAX student as if this child were their own son or daughter. This means providing the student with a bed and quiet place to study, three quality meals a day, transportation to and from school activities and the love and support a teenager will need while adapting to life in the U.S. Can you open your home and hearts to one of these brave young people?

If you would like to host a student for the upcoming year, or have some questions, please give Kimberly Eckhardt a call at 802-824-3792.
