The VPA boys basketball playoffs start rolling this week and Windsor can be found atop the Division III bracket.
The top-seeded Yellow Jackets open the postseason tonight at home against No. 16 Thetford Academy, while No. 7 Green Mountain will also be looking to advance in Division III action against No. 10 Peoples Academy.
In Division II, Springfield and Bellows Falls both face tough tests against two of the top three teams.
DIVISION II
No. 14 Springfield (3-17) at No. 3 Lyndon Institute (15-5)
Tuesday, 7 p.m.
The Cosmos have a tough road ahead with a trip to Lyndon.
Springfield is led by senior forward Josh Rivers in the paint, while senior guards Ed Shambo and Matt Graham are capable of raining 3-pointers from outside.
However, Lyndon — which started the season 1-5 — is firing on all cylinders and closed the regular season on a 14-game win streak. Springfield is on the opposite end of the spectrum, as the Cosmos began the campaign 3-2 and dropped 15 straight to conclude the regular season.
The winner will take on the victor of No. 6 U-32 (12-8) and No. 11 MSJ (7-13) in the quarterfinals.
