No bail for suspect in fatal shooting

Arraignment of Gregory Smith and Wendy Morris scheduled for today at 12:30.

LODGING & SCHEDULED ARRAIGNMENT

Following his arrest this morning, Gregory Allen Smith was held without bail and lodged in Springfield on a warrant from Judge Karen Carroll to face 2nd Degree Murder charges associated with the shooting of Wesley Wing in Springfield on 4/18. Judge Robert Gerety ordered this evening that Wendy Morris be held on a charge of Accessory After The Fact, with bail set at $250,000. Morris has been lodged in Springfield for lack of bail. Both are scheduled for arraignment at Windsor County Criminal Court in White River Junction at 12:30 pm, April 24, 2015.

Investigators with the Springfield Police Department, Vermont State Police Major Crime Unit & D-Troop BCI, Vermont Fish & Wildlife, and the Keene NH Police Department are continuing to investigate the case. Anyone with information surrounding the events of the last several days is encouraged to contact them at the Springfield Police Department.

It was not immediately known if either of the suspects have lawyers.
