Farmers’ Market opening day


It’s summertime, and what is more exciting than the prospect of fresh local produce provided by your nearby farmers’ market? This season, don’t forget to buy your produce and goods at the Springfield Community Farmer's Market.

Starting on May 30thyou can find the Springfield Community Farmer's Market downtown in the People's United Bank parking lot every Saturday (except June 20, Springfield's Alumni Day) from 10 am to 1 pm through October 3rd On October 10 the market will join the Apple Festival at Riverside Middle School.   

The Springfield Community Market is not only a great place to purchase local produce and goods, but it is a place to enjoy the day with family and friends, grab a bite to eat and listen to some good music This year, were bringing back the Family Fun Corner, with fun activities for the family. Dark Mountain Games a board game company and Building Brighter Futures a not for profit focused on healthy futures for children are partnering to coordinate these activities.  There will be a variety of activities for children of all ages throughout the summer including from board games and tournaments to coloring, chalk arthula hoops and more, and on occasion a solar powered bubble machine.  There will also be a variety of music throughout the season, featured for the opening market is Joey Bergland and the Thread City String Band.


This season’s market will offer a wide variety of products and services – produce, prepared foods to eat there or take away, cold and hot fresh brewed and locally roasted coffee (beans too), grass fed beef, honey, maple syrup, eggs, baked goods, lathe turned wooden bowls, Shaklee Products, colored hair braiding and with feathers, hand crafted jewelry and a variety of other arts and crafts will be available for sale.  Who better to buy them from than your own community members?  

There’s no better way to strengthen your local community than to shop and eat locally! By visiting the Springfield Community Farmer's Market, you support our local famers as well as businesses and community members.  Also, you support yourself by providing healthy and fresh food for you and your family. 

 We also accept EBT and Debit cards!  If you have any questions about how to use your EBT or Debit card at the market, please contact Springfield on the Move, som@vermontel.net802-885-1527.  Look for the EBT/Debit signs at vendor's booths.
