Off-Road 5K will benefit Friends of Veterans

Springfeld, Vt. — A 5K run and walk on May 30 in North Springfield will benefit Friends of Veterans. The Hartford-based nonprofit supports Vermont veterans who are homeless or at risk for homelessness.
Organized by the Springfield High School National Honor Society, the 5K features an out and back course on a dirt road and trail, with water at mile 1.
Registration is $10-$20. Event day registration and check-in are from 9-9:30 a.m., and the start is at 10 a.m. Participants are entered in a raffle for $150 and must be present to win. Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed, organizers said. Parking is at the North Springfield Dam Parking lot, 98 Reservoir Road.
