Local residents charged in bath salts conspiracy

Five people, including three local residents, are facing felony charges after police said they were part of a conspiracy to bring a drug known as “bath salts” from China to Vermont and distribute them.

  1. Maybe the town should hire these guys for their economic development contacts in China. Their outreach efforts would seem to easily surpass the lackluster Springfield Regional Development Corporation.

      Keep an eye out for the movie, "The Big Short." It should be in town in the next few weeks. Wall Street makes the SRDC look like Mother Teresa.

  2. It is actually scary what is happening here. The bad guys are winning and the honest people are leaving the State for safer areas.

      No, they aren't winning; they're too disorganized. You want an example of bad guys winning, look up Jefferson "Soapy" Smith of Whitehorse, Alaska, 1898, or Rahm Emanuel vs. Chicago public schools, 2013-15. Those who leave the state for safer areas are, to paraphrase Ben Franklin, pursuing an illusory security. The rest of us stay and fight to get real security.
