Santa in Springfield Friday evening
SPRINGFIELD — Santa Claus will arrive in Springfield on Friday evening to light the town’s Christmas tree.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at 6 p.m. by firetruck, giving area children plenty of time to pick up and fill out their sticker maps at the Springfield On the Move office at 6 Valley St. The office will open at 4 p.m.
After visiting 26 downtown participants, children should return their completed maps to the SOM office for a special gift bag.
Caroling in the People’s Bank parking lot will begin at 5:30 p.m. Once Santa arrives, children will have a chance to talk with him in his recently renovated house.
