Blue Christmas worship service
It is important for those who are grieving the loss of loved ones to have the opportunity to take time at Christmas to celebrate their lost loved ones. The Association of Springfield Area Churches is sponsoring a Blue Christmas worship service Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m..

Gallery at the VAULT to hold Holiday Open House, Men’s Night
On Saturday, Dec. 9, from noon to 4 p.m., all are welcome for a festive Holiday Open House at Gallery at the VAULT. The following week, Gallery at the VAULT’s first ever Men’s Night is planned for Thursday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Saxtons River Bell Ringers present Holiday Concert
The Springfield Town Library is pleased to present the Saxtons River Bell Ringers at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. The Bell Ringers will play holiday music on English handbells.

Hundreds turn out for inaugural Christmas event at Hartness House
To kick off the Christmas season, on Nov. 25 the Hartness House Inn welcomed 300 extra guests throughout the day to witness the wonder of a live interactive theatrical experience put on by the dancers of Gem Starz Training & Performance Center, volunteers and friends.

Video from the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce shows the arrival of Santa and Mrs Claus downtown tonight to light the town Christmas tree and meet with many local youngsters.
The Dance Factory presents “The Nutcracker”
The Dance Factory presents a fully costumed production of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. Both performances are at Springfield High School and will benefit the Springfield High School Drama Club.

Christmas Trees of Vermont opened under new ownership for the season on Nov. 24 and will continue to run until Dec. 17. While the new owners, Matt and Maggie Kurek, plan to make some changes, beloved traditions will remain.
Springfield Humane Society Christmas fundraiser
The Springfield Humane Society started the season at Christmas Trees of Vermont for their annual fundraiser on Nov. 24 with tables full of decadent baked goods. They will return each weekend through Dec. 17.

Christmas Trees of Vermont has opening weekend
Even with a foggy gray mist hanging over the Fraser fir trees, Christmas Trees of Vermont was merry and bright as Christmas tree season opened this weekend.
Springfield holiday program begins Dec. 2
When Santa lights Springfield’s town tree, a sense of awe comes over the crowd of families who anxiously awaited his arrival, quickly followed by cheers.
