Springfield Community Chorus presents holiday concerts | November 22, 2017 The Springfield Community Chorus presents their holiday concert at three venues next weekend. Come and hear the joyful songs of the season sung by the Springfield Community Chorus at one or more of its three concert venues held the first weekend in December. This year they are adding a third concert to their season. Friday night Dec. 1, the group will sing in Charlestown at the Congregational Church at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night, the Dec. 2 concert will be in Chester at the Baptist Church at 7:30 and the third concert will be Dec. 3 in Springfield, Vermont at the Congregational Church at 3 p.m. Audiences will be treated to several movements of Handel’s “Messiah,” including the much-loved “Hallelujah Chorus.” Other lighter holiday tunes to be sung include, “The Very Best Time of the Year,” written and arranged by John Rutter, “African Noel,” arranged by Andre Thomas, “Follow the Star,” written and arranged by Salley K. Albrecht, “White Christmas,” written by Irving Berlin and arranged by Ken Olsson, along with other holiday selections. The accompianist for these concerts is Keane Southard.
