On Saturday, Dec. 9, from noon to 4 p.m., all are welcome for a festive Holiday Open House at Gallery at the VAULT. Paint a watercolor of a favorite winter tree with artist Nancy Lanoue. Painting starts at noon, and is free; all materials provided. Enjoy music by Kathi Byam on flute, joined by Karen Engdal on violin. Find perfect gifts from the creations of 160 artists, all in a historic 1907 bank with a real vault. Refreshments, crafts, and gift-wrapping station will be available. A New Open Wall Exhibit, “Magical Light,” will also be on display. The following week, Gallery at the VAULT’s first ever Men’s Night is planned for Thursday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. All are welcome for refreshments and camaraderie, and to explore beautiful and original items in a wide price range. The VAULT will have jewelry, scarves, ornaments, mobiles, garden items, as well as creations in glass, pottery, stone, and wood, along with photographs and fine art. Perhaps that special someone has left some ideas of what they’d like in our new Wish Book. Still not sure what to get? A gift certificate may be the answer. And leave the gift-wrapping to the Gallery. The gallery is located on 68 Main St.,in a historic 1907 bank with a real vault, in Springfield.
