Humane society seeks food, toy donations

The Springfield Humane Society is trying to bring Christmas to the kennels.To that end, they have launched a holiday donation drive. They’re looking for pet food, treats, and toys.

Edgar May to host Thanksgiving Day 5k fundraiser


The Edgar May Health and Recreation Center will host the annual Thanksgiving Day 5K Road Race and Walk Thursday, Nov. 22. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome and children under the age of 12 are free.

Final North School fundraising sale for 2018


To keep its 5.5 acre recreation park open to the public, the North School Preservation Society must raise $2,400 yearly to pay the annual insurance bill in November. Their final fundraising sale of 2018 will be this Saturday, October 13. Many new items have been donated since the previous sale.

Join the Friends of the Springfield Town Library (FOSTL) for their book sale on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the armory on Fairground Road. All children’s books are free, others by donation.

North School Indoor/Outdoor Yard Sale

The North School Preservation Society will be holding another one of its popular fundraising yard sales this Saturday, September 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 49 Main Street in North Springfield. Proceeds go towards restoration work to the outside of the former schoolhouse.

Springfield Vermont’s Elementary School PTA Comedy Night Fundraiser is on Saturday Sept. 29. Doors open at 7 p.m. for a silent auction, refreshments and Trout River Brewing Company. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Lions Club 5th annual Fishing Tournament


The 5th annual Springfield Lions Club Fishing Tournament will take place Sunday, Sept. 9 at Hoyt’s Landing on Route 5 along the Connecticut River in Springfield. Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. There is a registration fee, but children 12 and under are free.

The Springfield Art and Historical Society will host a fundraiser yard sale at its North Springfield facility at 65 Route 106 on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. But as for right now, SAHS is looking for donations to put in the sale.

Golf tournament raises $21,500 to support youth vocational services


Health Care and Rehabilitation Services hosted its 11th annual Golf Tournament fundraiser on June 15 at the Woodstock Country Club. A field of 89 players participated in the tournament, raising more than $21,500 for HCRS’ youth vocational program.

It was a great turnout this Friday the 13th for the first hour of the biggest book sale in Springfield.   The sale continues until 6 pm. Then on Saturday, July 14th the sale begins again at 8 am and closes at 4 p.m.

Bands raise bucks: Acworth MusicFest benefits Village Store


Springfield band Moxley Union is one of 11 bands and musicians in this year's line-up at the Acworth MusicFest this Saturday June 30. It's being held in the field next to the Acworth Village Store.

Money raised to buy door pop and heat alarm system for K9 AJ

The Springfield Regional Chamber is thrilled to announce the success of our community effort to award an equipment grant to the Springfield Police Department for K9 AJ! A door pop and heat alarm system will be provided to the agency at no cost, thanks to an online fundraiser supported by the Springfield community.
