(Courtesy) SPRINGFIELD — The Gallery at the VAULT in Springfield, will usher in Valentine’s season on Saturday, Feb. 4 with its annual “Chocolate Tasting” fundraiser to support student art camps. The afternoon of chocolate sampling is from 12 to 4 p.m. in the “Open Wall” gallery room at the VAULT, 68 Main St., in Springfield. The event is open to the public with donations “much appreciated." In its seventh year, the fundraiser will feature tasting from among the best chocolates and sweets donated by Vermont chocolatiers and local restaurants and bakeries, including The Inn at Weathersfield, Hartness House Inn, Heritage Bakery and Deli, Daily Chocolate, Red Kite Candy and King Arthur Flour. Adding to the festive atmosphere will be background music by flutist, Kathi Byam, area flute teacher and composer, who has performed throughout New England, New York City and in Norway. There will be a “Trunk Show” featuring Jewelry Designs by Melody Reed, showing earrings and bracelets made of silver-plate, pewter, copper and brass. Hosting the event will be VAULT board members and friends packaging up custom chocolate assortments and chocolate sweets made from cherished family recipes, all for sale to benefit opportunities for children to experience creating art and crafts. Gallery at the VAULT is a nonprofit visual arts organization with a mission “to serve the community by offering opportunities for learning, participation in the creative process and by providing a marketplace for artists.
