Keep theater in Springfield Rutland Herald | February 24, 2017 This summer the Springfield Community Players will produce its 97th year of quality amateur theater in the Southview School, a former elementary school built during World War II. We would like to continue to use the building, which is why I hope you will vote “yes” on Article 16 at town meeting. Approval of Article 16 will allow the Springfield School Board to sign a 10-year lease. Our current lease is up for renewal this year. We have leased and maintained the building to present musicals, comedies, drama and cabarets since the 1970s. This has not only provided entertainment for residents and visitors to Springfield, but has created opportunities for youth and adults to learn stagecraft and performance skills. Please vote “yes” on Article 16. STEPHANIE ROWE Springfield
