SPRINGFIELD — Armloads of books are available at the Friends of the Springfield Town Library (FOSTL) benefit book sale, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 14-15, at the National Guard Armory on Fairground Road in North Springfield.
Doors open Friday at 10 a.m., and there’s usually a line waiting to be first at the tables, according to a press release. Friday’s sale closes at 6 p.m.; Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a generous bag sale for bargain hunters from 2 to 4 p.m..
FOSTL volunteers collect books year round for this sale, bringing in boxes of cookbooks, biographies, Vermontiana, novels, and mysteries. Funds support library programs for the greater community, as well as equipment like the new microfilm reader and the coffee maker. Leased books expand the collection, and FOSTL always sponsors the annual Saxtons River Bell Ringers concert.
For more information, call the Springfield Town Library at (802) 885-3108.
