SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Court St. Anne #1069 Catholic Daughters of the Americas celebrated its 90th anniversary Sunday, Aug. 6 at St. Mary’s Nolin-Murray Center in Springfield, Vermont. Thirty-seven women are listed in records as being charter members of this organization, which had its first regular meeting Aug. 1, 1927, held at the home of Rev. Fr. George Hagan. On display Sunday at the Nolin-Murray Center were actual meeting minutes books of the first 30 years, the large, framed charter, numerous scrapbooks and photo albums of the organization, posters with photos depicting the Annual Tag Sale and Chicken & Biscuit Supper (the main fundraisers), and numerous photos of St. Mary’s buildings, pastors, church groups, Confirmation and First Communion classes. In addition to the regular Sunday coffee and donuts, a beautiful cake decorated with the CDA symbol was enjoyed by all. The Catholic Daughters send a big thank you to all those who have supported them through the years. They look forward to the next 10 years until their Centennial Anniversary in 2027.
