SAPA TV celebrates 20 years

SAPA TV, Springfield’s public access TV station, became an official nonprofit June 9, 1998 and now celebrates 20 years of serving the community. The journey took a lot of work and several dedicated community members.

Legislature recognizes HCRS’ 50th anniversary


HCRS was recognized by the Vermont House of Representatives for our 50th anniversary celebrated in 2017. In a concurrent resolution signed by the Senate and House of Representatives on May 3, HCRS was recognized for many highlights of their history.

Farrars celebrate 60th anniversary

Stanley and Shirley Farrar celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary August 23rd. They enjoyed a lovely dinner with their daughter Cindy A'Pelt and her husband Charles A'Pelt, and their son Leonard Farrar and his wife Nancy Farrar. Also in attendance were their grandchildren Sarah A'Pelt, Sonya A'Pelt, Myles Farrar, Briana Farrar, and great-grandchildren Selena Hodgdon, Delilah Hodgdon, and Etina Turner.

Town celebrates 90th anniversary of Lindbergh landing

Town and community officials celebrated the 90th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh’s visit to Springfield on Wednesday at the Hartness State Airport with a glider flight and participation from Lindbergh’s daughter, Reeve Lindbergh, who resides in St. Johnsbury.

The Spirit of Anne Morrow Lindbergh circled twice above the valley where the Hartness State Airport sits, a crowd of 50 or 60 spectators watching below. They were there to commemorate the anniversary of a landing at Hartness in 1927, when Charles Lindbergh celebrated his historic transatlantic flight.
