Church raises $700 for Planned Parenthood | November 13, 2017 Coconut custard on sticky rice was among the menu options at a Thai dinner put on by the Unitarian Universalist Church in Springfield, Vermont to benefit the Planned Parenthood located in Claremont. — COURTESY SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Pad Thai, Galanga Coconut Curry Soup, Vegan Curry, Coconut Custard on Sticky Rice, and Chai Tea were on the menu for a fundraising dinner Saturday evening, Nov. 11, at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Springfield. Members, including two who have lived in Thailand, made authentic Thai dishes and decorated with items from that country. Over 40 people joined the festivities, including folks from as far away as Enfield Center, New Hampshire. The church raised $700 for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England’s Claremont Health Center. Planned Parenthood provides essential health services to both women and men. General health care as well as reproductive health care and referrals are available. The Claremont health center also offers the New Hampshire Family Planning Program for income-eligible individuals and families. “The Springfield UU Church is pleased to support Planned Parenthood at this time when access to health care — both in general and reproductive services in particular — is under threat in the US,” the church stated in a press release. More information about Planned Parenthood’s services can be found by calling (603) 542-4568.
