Arrests made following Vermont Drug Task Force investigations SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — The Vermont Drug Task Force, assisted by the Springfield Police Department, arrested two Springfield residents last week on drug charges. On Thursday, Dec. 7, in Windsor County, Daniel Rosales, 22, of Springfield, was arrested on three counts of sale of heroin and Shanice Nieves, 24, of Springfield, was arrested on two counts of the sale of heroin. The arrests came as part of an ongoing investigation in Windsor County. Both Rosales and Nieves were cited to appear in Windsor Superior Court Criminal Division on Jan. 23 to answer to the charges. On Friday, Dec. 8, in Windham County, Nieves was arrested again on two counts of heroin, one count of fentanyl and two counts of crack cocaine. She was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of $15,000 bail. Nieves was due in Windham Superior Court Criminal Division on Monday. Also arrested was Malcom Chappel, 29, of Brattleboro, Vermont, for the sale of heroin, sale of fentanyl, sale of crack cocaine and possession of fentanyl. The arrest came as part of an ongoing investigation in Windham County. Chappel was ordered held on $15,000 bail and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility. Chappel was due today at Windham Superior Court Criminal Division to answer to the charges. The Vermont Drug Task Force was assisted by the Brattleboro Police Department.
