Conditions have been ideal at the North Springfield public skating rink but volunteers are needed to have the warming hut open early evenings and weekends.
The Springfield Parks & Recreation Department is in charge of setting up and maintaining the rink at the North School Recreation Park each winter. There is also a sledding hill close to the rink.
It has been a popular winter recreation site for generations.
Call Parks & Rec at 885-2727 to inquire about volunteering.

The North School Preservation Society is planning an outdoor family event here for a late February Saturday afternoon.

Looks bumpy to me, but none the less a great place to get some skating in.
ReplyDeleteGood job to all those who make this rink possible. I had to quit when they would not allow me to do a triple camel on my old double runners.
Does anyone know if the hours they might turn on the lighting or open the warming hut?
ReplyDeleteGood job
