SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Save the dates for the first annual Springfield Wellness Week! Monday, March 19 through Sunday, March 25, the Springfield community will be hosting a series of health and wellness related activities, free and open to the public! We’re excited to bring this collaborative event to the community to showcase the many health and wellness resources available in our area, and demonstrate the importance of self-care in our daily lives. The vision is to gather many diverse and creative activities, speakers, and presentations, to fill the week with learning and growth opportunities – something for everyone! We’re intentionally defining the term “wellness” very loosely, to be as inclusive as possible. The content will encompass physical fitness and nutrition, art, music and other forms of expression, mental health, emotional wellbeing, spiritual aspects, literacy, financial well-being, healthy homes, and more! There will be a calendar for the week listing all the wellness-related activities, and punch cards – receive one punch per activity, and for every five, you will entered into a prize raffle! Events will include speaker presentations from area leaders, physicians, and businesses that are excelling at supporting worksite wellness. The Edgar May Health & Recreation Center and their Studio Momentum will be offering free fitness classes. The Springfield Art Gym will be doing a presentation about art therapy and offering free art activities. Other hosting partners so far include Springfield Hospital, Fostering Wellness Chiropractic, Springfield Food Co-op, Springfield Town Library, and Windham Windsor Housing Trust. Interested to get involved? Consider registering as a presenter, keynote speaker, or activity leader! We will provide you with sign-in sheets to track participation, and packets including calendars and punch cards, so that you can distribute as needed. We are also seeking more individuals to help with the event planning. For more information, to volunteer, or to request a presenter registration form, please contact the EdgarMay at 802-885-2568 or email info@myreccenter.org.
