Man arrested for alleged role in Claremont drug deal | February 07, 2018 BY TIMOTHY LA ROCHE tlaroche@eagletimes.com CLAREMONT — A man wanted in connection with a Claremont drug bust was arrested Tuesday. Johnnie “Malik” Kyles, 34, of Springfield, Vt., was arrested at the Roadway Inn in Bellows Falls on a warrant issued by the Claremont Police Department last week. Kyles is charged with conspiracy to commit sale of drugs after police received information that he was allegedly involved in drug deals out of a Claremont residence. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Windham County Superior Court in Brattleboro, Vt., on today. On Jan. 31, Claremont police netted more than 600 bags of heroin, 20 grams of crack cocaine and marijuana and more than $4,450 in cash during the arrest of Samantha Davis, 27, of Claremont. Davis is charged with two counts each of selling cocaine and selling marijuana, and one count each of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana. Davis’ arrest followed a two-week investigation from Claremont Police, New Hampshire State Police and the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Drug Task Force. While staking out Davis’ 12 Spofford Street apartment on Jan. 31, New Hampshire State Police said they witnessed a man and woman enter the house and leave 10 minutes later, according to affidavits. Troopers later pulled over the pair near in front of Walmart, where the woman was allegedly found to be in possession of four bags of cocaine. She agreed to cooperate with police and provided a voluntary statement to Cornish Police shortly thereafter. Texts sent between the woman and Davis show that the two allegedly discussed the transaction of cocaine the shortly before the woman arrived at Davis’ apartment. During the conversation, Davis allegedly informed the woman that Kyles would be present for the transaction. “Yea u gunna have to meet my baby daddy,” affidavits said, quoting a text message sent from Davis’ phone to the woman. The woman told investigators that Kyles was allegedly in Davis’ apartment when she visited. When she arrived in the apartment, Kyles allegedly retrieved a black backpack from a bedroom, removing the four bags of cocaine and a bag of marijuana. Claremont Police thanked the public for several tips that led to Kyles’ arrest. He is expected to be extradited to New Hampshire. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges are expected.
