Forget that the FISA warrant was legally obtained, or that every Republican voted to renew the FISA court as it currently stands, or that Carter Page was a legitimate suspect. When you begin with conspiracy theories, you lose most people before the end. You should have read what I said befor YOU spoke. Both the FBI and Justice Dept. say the release of the memo is a threat to national security. THESE ARE TRUMP APPOINTEES, who are ALL REPUBLICANS, not some Democratic Party "conspiracy."

DeleteThis is for Roger......A FISA warrant application has to be put together by FBI agents who have opened a formal investigation and put together enough evidence to justify a FISA warrant.
ReplyDeleteThen the FISA warrant application is subject to Woods Procedures, a very thorough vetting process by the lawyers at the National Security division of the DOJ. Every fact and document presented is cross-checked. The FBIs document tracking system is serialized, digitized, and tamper-proof, and the documents tied to a Full Investigation and a FISA application is a real web of interconnected files and cross-referenced data. The lawyers who are responsible for presenting FISA requests are very, very thorough.
Once these NSD lawyers believe there is sufficient evidence to substantiate a FISA warrant, they have to walk into a federal district court and present it to one of a dozen or so federal judges. Federal judges are sharp. They aren't going to award a FISA warrant based on an application full of spurious "evidence" and they would dress down any lawyer who tried to.
If the FISA warrant request is approved, it is only good for 90 days on US citizens. If the FBI wants to extend it they have to present proof that the surveillance produced intelligence that substantiates the original probable cause for the surveillance request.
In the case of people like Carter Page, who has probably been under surveillance off and on since 2013 when the FBI told him that known Russian agents were trying to recruit him, FISA surveillance would have to produce fruit in order to be continued.
All of which means the allegations by Nunes and Page and Trump that surveillance of Carter Page was politically motivated by Page's involvement with the Trump Campaign is utter nonsense. Trump surrounded himself with people who were compromised and under investigation before they had anything to do with his candidacy.

I believe Trump had some people in his administration, evident by the people who have left and who have been fired, but is that really breaking the laws, if they were they are now gone. I want to know and think the People of these United States some how need to know the Criminals and get them out, that is my only point to all of my post today. I think this memo should do that, if not how do we, because the FBI and DOJ has all the controls. If there is criminals at the tops of those depts., we are all in trouble because they have us all by the short hairs and not much we can do about it.

A very disturbing fact about the wire tapping request of President Trump is that the FISA Court turned down President Obama’s Administration’s first request to wire tap President Trump that was evidently signed off on by Attorney General Lynch.

We also know from information released on Friday by the House Intelligence Committee that the Obama administration then went back to the FISA court in September 2016 with the bogus Russia dossier attached to their request to give their request some additional “support”.
The Obama DOJ and FBI used the fake dossier to ensure their FISA court request would be granted.
Later, after Donald Trump won the presidency, Deputy Director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, testified to Congress that the FISA court request would never have been approved without the dossier that everyone knew was a lie.
